Cultivating Compassion in a Period of Transition—Editorial
We know that the incoming 7th ray energy signals an end to the Piscean age and the beginning of the Aquarian age. Esoteric teaching tells us that "one ray prepares the way for another" and that "it is not often that two rays follow each other in numerical sequence". It is written that when this occurs, as is now the case, "there eventuates a rapid following of effect upon cause". It is this rapidity that is so confusing to humanity and which produces the fear and uncertainty that often accompanies rapid change.

Organising the Ashrams into Form on Earth – Part II—Djwhal Khul

"Sacrifice"—The Solvent for the Atomic Era—M. Victor Fox
The master key that will help us to unlock the door of the Mysteries and which is needed above everything else in order to help us conclusively solve our problems, is that much-feared and little understood word which portrays for us a quality and attitude of which we call sacrifice.

The Power to Illumine—Christine Morgan
The more spiritually magnetic we make ourselves through invocative meditation, the more powerful and effective will be the energy we evoke into our consciousness and are therefore able to give out to the world. This naturally supposes a high degree of purity and alignment as is the case with any magnetised object. It’s encouraging to think we can become so impressionable, in a positive way that is.

The Occult Use of Silence and of Speech—A Student
In contrast to the personality, the soul wishes to build and to create and is therefore inherently constructive in its work. But to hear the soul, to heed its desires, and to allow it to perform its magic, the clamour of the personality must be silenced. The noise of the effusive personality system must be "filtered off", exposing the pure and unwavering inner tone of the soul. And when we are silent in our bodies and the whispering of the soul can be plainly heard, many good things naturally happen.

The Science of the Antahkarana—Brian Arrowsmith
Once we have built our inner bridge, we are qualified to become bridge builders in the outer world. We can become members of our planet’s most important group. We can build a bridge of relations between all kingdoms, from the lowest to the highest, between ourselves and others, between people and people, group and group, nation and nation, and the peoples of all nations.

Aspects of the Soul Experience—R. Andrew Griffiths
It seems that what is required of us is a gradual alignment with the various aspects of the soul’s experience, namely those aspects which are the love- and joy-consciousness, serenity, well-being and that awareness which perhaps could be described as a sense of Life in things external to us.

Benjamin Franklin–A Forerunner—R. Peterson
Carl Becker wrote of Franklin "Nature alone met him on equal terms, with a disinterestedness matching his own". Franklin himself explains how in promoting his libraries, schools and other public projects, he introduced them as the acts of some "public spirited gentleman", rather than his own. Another technique he used was never to use a dogmatic approach, saying "it appears to me" or "it is so if I am not mistaken", finding this far more effective. He refused to patent anything which might be of general benefit to mankind. Commenting on this he wrote his mother, "I would rather have it said, ‘He lived usefully’, than ‘He died rich.’"
