PROBLEMS OF HUMANITY
An Introduction

PROBLEMS OF HUMANITY - THE WRITTEN STUDY COURSE

The written study course is inspired by the book, Problems of Humanity, by Alice A. Bailey, and is composed of three main elements:

1. Material for reading and study

2. Guidelines for a reflective meditation

3. Some questions for consideration and discussion.

Designed for individual and group use, the course consists of seven study sets based upon the following fundamental problems which underlie the present world conditions; there are many lesser problems, but these are the major ones with which humanity is at this time confronted and to which a solution must be found:

Set 1. Introductory Set

Set 2. The Psychological Renewal of the Nations

Set 3. Children, Youth & Education

Set 4. Capital, Labour & Employment

Set 5. Racial Minorities

Set 6. The Churches & Organised Religion

Set 7. International Unity

Throughout the course, emphasis is placed upon underlying causes and emerging trends rather than on a factual survey of events. The use of the trained mind in reflective meditation is encouraged. World Goodwill also encourages the formation of study groups for the course. Through study, discussion and meditation we can generate a "thoughtform of solution", so changing the climate of world thought. By changing thought, we can produce effective and practical changes in world affairs, changes which we can participate in through local forms of service activity.

The course, which has recently been revised, is offered free of charge to all who are concerned with human progress. Donations, which are needed to cover the cost of printing and postage, are accepted with gratitude. Any of the study sets may be obtained in one of three ways: by downloading them as Adobe Acrobat files (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required) and printing them; by filling in the online order form or by writing to World Goodwill. Also available are a brief set of guidelines to facilitate group work with the study sets.

"The trained use of power on the side of goodwill and on behalf of right human relations will be demonstrated as possible, and the present unhappy state of world affairs can be changed. This will be done...through the weight of a trained public opinion--an opinion which will be based on goodwill, on an intelligent understanding of the needs of humanity, on a determination to bring about right human relations and on the recognition that the problems with which humanity is today confronted can be solved through goodwill."
