Group Consciousness
Evolution is the story of the unfoldment of consciousness. It is the story of the process by which all expressions of life come to reflect and conform to the underlying pattern created by the Will of God. This divine drama is revealed through an understanding of the three stages that govern human unfoldment: instinct, intellect and intuition.
Humanity, today, is rapidly moving away from a state of purely instinctual reactions to circumstances and events to a more considered, thoughtful awareness of not only the outer, phenomenal world, but also of the inner, causal levels. The outer Garment of God, the world of the form, has been exhaustively analysed for many centuries. And through the use of the microscope and telescope, and through the cutting edge technologies found in the laboratories of the world, humanity has gathered a remarkable knowledge base of information about the physical plane. Yet, the 'instrument' that has played and continues to play such a formidable role in all this work is the human mind, using the faculties of both the intellect and the intuition. The development of our mental awareness has also brought about creative breakthroughs in our understanding of the subtler planes of consciousness, of the world of the human psyche. Other frontiers, new horizons in consciousness are gradually being sensed by leading thinkers today, formless worlds that reveal the nature of divinity. It is only the intuition, the higher abstract mind that is able to penetrate beyond the boundaries of our purely human existence into the Mind of God. This development marks a significant shift in human attitudes, in the way we interact with one another, and with the higher and the lower kingdoms of our planetary home.
These progressive developments are stimulating the urge to self and group consciousness within the human race. Self-consciousness or self-realisation is the natural expression of many today. This is leading to the blossoming of the human personality though, for a growing number of the human family, self-consciousness is being transcended by group consciousness and polarisation is shifting from the limited life of the personality to that of the inclusive awareness of the soul.
A great experiment is going on in the world at this time. Quietly, spiritually focused individuals are coming together, inspired by a common holistic vision of human and planetary renewal. From all walks of life – races, religions and social backgrounds – men and women of goodwill the world over are responding to an inner calling that sounds from the very Heart of God. Their minds are opening to a spiritual vision of an unfolding divine Purpose that has been held inviolate throughout the passage of time. A new renaissance beckons, heralding the dawn of an era, an age of enlightenment, which has inspired poets, philosophers and visionaries throughout the millennia.
We are today poised at an epochal crossroads. Behind lies a history of seeming failures and noble achievements, of the slow progress of the human psyche to awaken to the spiritual impulses emanating from the heart of our planetary life. Ahead lies the sweetest fruit of all human endeavour, a true union with the Kingdom of God. And standing at the forefront of this momentous impetus are the members of the new group of world servers. Their outer work is seemingly diverse, yet on subjective levels they share a unity of purpose, inspired by an emerging spiritual pattern that is slowly being woven into the fabric of human life. A rich tapestry of interconnected spiritual ideas, emanating from the Mind of God, is taking shape in the mind of humanity. The unfoldment of group consciousness is the key to the precipitation and right understanding of these ideas, and to lead humanity into an unprecedented period of true peace, unity and understanding.
Triangles is an example of group service work. Collectively, thousands of co-workers around the world link in consciousness each day to serve a common purpose: to magnetise the Triangles network, so that love and light can radiate into the hearts and minds of the human family. In the light of these spiritual qualities humanity is becoming aware of new patterns that reflect the divine will for the coming era: patterns of group consciousness, interdependence, and right relationships.
