Intuitional Astrology

When we contemplate the vast starry heavens, it can sometimes be difficult to see how human activity can in any way influence the workings of the great whorls of fiery light we see before us. What has our human thinking and action to do with great Lives Whose divine purposes cannot even be guessed at? And yet in the apparently simple activity of Triangles, we are forging a link of unbroken wholeness with the One Life which pervades every being, no matter how great or small. Our daily concentration upon light and love weaves human consciousness seamlessly into the etheric net of the universe. Impelled by the sounding of the Great Invocation, the light we sense as the underlying substance of creation, and the love which fuses all beings into complete and perfect relationship, are sent forth into the body of the planet, and from there add their quota of radiance to the wider system.

This wider significance of the Triangles work is touched upon in Esoteric Astrology, where Alice Bailey introduces the Science of Triangles as part of the astrology of the future. She indicates that: "...the entire cosmic web and solar system is an intricate, constantly moving, inter-woven series of triangles". The triangle emerges as a simple unit of pattern within the cosmos, which can serve to interpret the complexity of the whole. The challenge for astrologers who seek to understand the deeper aspects of astrology, beyond the purely personal, will be to intuit the patterns of triangular relationship which exist between the many different points of light within the universe. In this way, they can begin to understand how these wider patterns impact upon individuals, groups and nations.

We can assist in this process through our visualisation of the Triangles network, recognising in its pulsating lines of light a mirror of the vault of the heavens. We thereby help to touch the intuitional plane, the plane where there is the first contact with pure truth. Thus, the Triangles network can serve as a sensitive antenna for those who are seeking to bring in new astrological intuitions because, patterned as it is upon the fundamental building-block of relationship within the cosmos, it naturally resonates with the wider patterns which exist both within and beyond the solar system. The Triangles work emerges not only as a renovation of the three worlds of human endeavour in which we can consciously participate, but also as a precipitation of the pattern of things as they are in the heavens.

As the astrologers of the future seek to bring in new ideas from the intuition about planetary and zodiacal energies, we may expect that there will be an increasing emphasis given to the impact of these energies on groups and on the planet as a whole. This is for a number of reasons. A major factor is that, both astronomically and astrologically, we are now moving into the Age of Aquarius, which is particularly associated with group consciousness. The intuition is spoken of by Alice Bailey as being concerned with group good. Also, humanity is increasingly conscious of itself not just in national, but also in global terms. And the Triangles work, which helps create the atmosphere in which ideas can descend from intuitive levels, is a group activity and a global network.

Astrology has been described as "the science of relationships" - the relationships existing between all living organisms within the universe. The astrology of the future will be concerned with discovering those right relationships which exist within the macrocosm, so that those same relationships may find their microcosmic correspondence within humanity. By creating a network of lighted goodwill, Triangles too is concerned with the establishing of right relations - both within humanity, and between humanity and the planet. Triangles can be seen as a conscious effort on the part of humanity to fit the Earth to be a lighted beacon within the heavens, in right relation with all other points of light.

The Law of the Universe is to all eternity the good of the whole.

Adapted, Alice Bailey
